Hi folks
I'm kicking about the idea of a new (to me) boat and came across the Irwin Citation 35, seems right sized and from the numbers a good sailer. I like the layout, aft head, lots of space for two and the occasional guest(s). Sailing area will be great lakes and maybe east coast, if I get real ambitious the Bahamas. I see a couple for sale (an 87 & 88) but not much other info on them. I take it build quality varied in the mid 80's so for sure anything I look at will get a good going over. I saw some discussion on the hull to deck joint/stanchions on Irwins maybe not the strongest and will have to investigate. Both boats that I saw online are shallow draft, about 5 1/2 feet, seem OK but what type of keel is it, lead or iron, bolted or encapsulated? Mast looks keel stepped and rigging strength seem good, looks like large intermediate bolts to the deck. Anyone have info on this model pro or con I'd like to hear.

Thanks
Glenn
