west marine (zodiac) so its pvc. 1nch tear about waterline from barnacle on a dock.

Should be a pretty straight foward repair with a repair kit...and that's probably a lot less costly than having a shop do the work.

used the pvc repair kit followed all the instructions. still waiting the 24 hours for the glue to dry. just doesnt look very secure. just getting ready a back up play. i am out every weekend and get alot of use of the dinghy.

One problem I've seen a few times is some people use armor-all or something similar to try and protect the PVC...and the silicone in the Armor-all contaminates the PVC and makes patching it impossible.
