Hello, All:
Over the past couple years some people have commented for- or against-
powering their Vega with an outboard engine rather than an inboard.
While thumbing through some old Vega Newsletters, (edited by our old
friend, Sid Rosen) I found a comment in the 25 August, 1998 issue about a
Vega cruising near La Paz, Baha California. It seems that he had noticed
what he referred to as "a great deal of flexing at the transom." He had a
yard in Mexico check it out. They installed a bulkhead, connecting the
cockpit to the hull (no other details).
The writer of the article blamed it on the 100 pound, 15 horsepower
outboard motor attached to the transom.
Something to be aware of for those others who may have gone over to an
outboard.
Cheers, Ed[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
