Strider at Dyers Dock, from which I left on my first offshore passage to a foreign country and where the only large sailing vessel of my design that was built is based. I love being docked next to a sign that says, "Research Vessels Only". After all, Strider was one once.

Also seen at the WHOI dock this morning, a research vessel named Pheonix, a bird which rises from the ashes. The home port is Bikini which we immolated in an atomic fireball. You can bet there is an interesting story behind this vessel:
