Before I dump a load of questions on the group, my thoughts and
prayers are with Chuch and Laura, whereever they may be. We all
hope to hear from them soon. I know some of us in the San Francisco
area were hoping to meet up with them after they headed south
following the Northwest Rendesvous. We wish them Godspeed. Finally after 6 months working on hull 1493, we have her in the
water in Vallejo, CA. Took her out sailing seveal times to get used
to the sails etc. Just a couple questions,
1) I dismantled the boom because of corrosion and pitting, cleaned
it up and added a strengthening piece underneath. In that process,
I removed all the hardware on the boom. There is a pulley on the
end, can't figure out which way it goes. How is the outhaul
configured on the end of the boom? Anybody have pictures? Also
several other eyelets and fittings on the boom. Trying to decipher
their function. it is like putting a puzzle together without the
picture of what the final product is supposed to look like.
2) What are all the cleats for on the mast base? There are four
large ones, and a number of other smaller ones. Which one goes
where?
3) The jib seems to interfere with the pulpit? Is there a short
line or cable that allows the jib to ride higher, above the pulpit,
or is it normal for it to contact the pulpit rail?
Sorry for all the questions, but just thought it would be quicker to
ask rather than try to figure it all out by trial and error.
Victor -- don't you live near Vallejo? Interested in taking a look
at it?
