and thanks to the help I recieved in this forum I have narrowed it down to the Garmin 152. (don't really need all of the chartplotting features, and expenses, of the others) One question....does the 152 with the internal antenna have an external connection for an external antenna also. I want to be able to mount it at the nav station and have the option to move it to the helm. I cannot find specifications for internal and external models anywhere, just a generic 152 manual on the Garmin site. Thanks all!

hummm.... The garmin website talks about...

having a remote antenna for the 152. I looked it up and it says: ====================== Package Includes: GPS 152 receiver Database: Marine Point Database (Americas) GA 29 low-profile remote marine antenna (or internal GPS antenna) Gimbal mount Power/data cable Owner's manual Quick reference guide ====================== See link. Enjoy.

gps76

I contacted the factory about my problem with the GPS76. The screen has lines across it which makes only half the screen visible. It's like reading it through venetian blinds that are half open. They tell me for $80 they will replace the chip or software. The unit is three years old.
