In-mast furling changing to regular sails

Hi, I have a Hunter 466, year: 2002 with in-mast furling made by Selden. I would like to use the extra slot on this mast for a regular fully battened sail. I know that ussualy this slot is for storm main. Is it safe to do it? Tanks, Haim Amit, Israel

Please Share What You Learn

I've considered doing this on my Passage 450. I assume a full-battened main with a good roach would make a huge difference in performance. I'd love to hear about the solution you eventually go with. I can't imagine any reason why you using that slot would cause a problem.
