I have a sailing friend (yes, really) that's between boats and is looking for a 'trailerable' sailboat in the 18 to 21 ft. range, with bunks, galley, and head. The O'Day 192 or an O'Day 20 come close to his ideal, but he'd certainly consider viable alternatives. As a start to get him back on the water, any leads offered to attractive vessels within a 300 mile radius of Illinois would be appreciated. Thanks. In order to ensure that he receives your help, please reply directly to "Tom" at winddre@comcast.net Thanks.

Have him go up one foot and check the Catalina 22, thousand upon thousands made. Great boats, good tech, parts and forum support...check it out.

Thats a lot of stuff...

for a 18' boat! I would go with a Hobie Cat... and can the bunks, galley and head. Sleep on the tramp... bring some food in a cooler... go overboard (outside the 3 mile limit naturally).

Jon, I just looked at a map of the central US and

Illinois is rather long north to south. 300 miles north takes you almost to Canada and 300 miles south takes you almost to the Gulf of Mexico. ;)
