hi peggy, last spoke to last oct. when i was in the process of removing the entire sanitation system and replacing with new. finally finished the project a few weeks ago, long winter in the boston area. got holding tank right from catalina and all new hoses from a.g.s. brutal stuff,1 1/2", to work with. used a hair dryer to soften hose and used k-y jelly to help with hose install onto fittings.let all readers know that this hose is less money than other sanitation hoses, but this hose doesn't fit on usual barbed fittings so i used the smooth fittings from shields, which still took some effort to install but much easier.double hose clamped everything. also took your advice and installed a shutoff on the sink drain and hooked it to the head intake seacock, so at the end of the weekend, can fill sink with fresh water- cp solution, close seacock and open shutoff, and pump thru head so no head smell come next weekend. my question is, i put a raw water strainer in line, before head, and am wondering if this will effect sea water being pulled into head or should it be removed. boat not in water yet. also, all stink is gone from boat. got my wife on board yesterday to help clean and she remarked how good the boat smelled.what a relief. any comments on the raw water strainer would be appreciated...jeff kaplan
