Has anyone coverted their booms to have the topping lift, out-haul and reefing lines run internally? I have an 89 Catalina 25. My old boat was like this, and It was nice. If there is a kit please let me know, Thanks.

Internal Lines

I am not aware of a "kit", although the parts necessary should all be available from a marine chandlery like West Marine or Boat US. Also, check out the message board at the C25/C250 National Association website. Ask there and maybe one of the participants will have a good solution for you. http://www.catalina25-250.org/ Bill Holcomb - C25 Snickerdoodle #4839

Bill; On Jaded the C25 at Bay View, I used a triple sheave box that had a center sheave for wire, and two outside sheaves for rope. I thought it was a Schaefer, but I can't find it in there catalog. If you get a chance, and I know Russ has taken her home to Spokane, find out what brand that box is. It is at the end of the boom where the outhaul enters. I don't remember what exit blocks I used, but harken, and sheafer make some that work perfect. I have Russ's number, and I will try to call him this weekend. Mike

Michael McCann - Please do get us that info!

Michael, I'm planning to modify my C-25 boom for internal control lines lead to the cockpit. The sheave box and other related parts you describe sound like they would be perfect! Please let us know what parts (at least brand names) were used. Thanks! -- Leon Sisson <SissonL@MPInet.Net>
