Improving fridge and port hole seals

Hello:

I just bought a 2003 Bavaria 44. Does any body have had experience improving the insulation of the fridge? How about installing a seal to the lid? I also need information on changing the glasses and rubber seals on the portholes as well as changing the laminate on the top of the galley counter.

Congratulations on your Bavaria 44 purchase. Nice boat!! I would think you should contact your local dealer for help, or the manufacturer in Giebelstadt, Germany.

I would also suggest that you contact the dealer about some up front help. I do not know what type of support you could expect from the factory, but that is also worth a try.

If you have Home Depot in PR, they make different types of weather stripping. The "D" type and the others have a peel off sticky backing so the application is very easy.

Depending on the mfg of your ports, there are some companies in the US that can provide replacement parts. The seals on the opening ports may just need some rubber lube.
