Boaters with Adler Barbour refrigeration sold after 1996 need to be aware of a problem that causes these compressors to be erratic or not to run at all. Because the troubleshooting LED may indicate compressor failure a Service Man could advise system or compressor failure. I am no longer updating my boat refrigeration books although I will keep posting information on my Boat refrigeration forum. If you have a CU100 or CU200 you should copy Tech Tip #1 on my forum it might save you $400 to $1500 and keep refrigeration operating. See complete bulletin http://www.kollmann-marine.com

thanks Richard, great information ! I saved it in my boat files for future reference.

Do you have any idea why AB would run the thermostat on our refrigerator spill over fan off the freezer thermostat ? it makes it nearly impossible to adjust the temperature properly in the refrigerator.

Spillover fan should not cycle off when compressor is stopped by thermostat. When refrigerator is not in use its breaker is turned off so power for spillover fan needs to come from plus and minus power wiring to refrigerator.

Go to my web site and click on FANS then look for Spillover Fans. If you still need help Email me.

thanks Richard, I will rewire the spill over fan and probably add small air circulation fans in each cabinet running them all off the 12 volt supply for the AB system. The boat is in Port Salerno so I will not get at it until we return next winter.
