Impeller pliers with bent tips?

I was helping a friend on his Hunter 466, which has a 4JH3E-TE engine. The raw water pump faces backwards, which makes it hard to pull out the impeller (without removing the whole pump). I used a 90 degree needle nose pliers to pull out the impeller. (Let's skip all the discussion on how hard it is to access -- that's a given.)

In some publication, I remember seeing a 90 degree needle nose pliers, but with an extra inward bend at the tips. The small bend at the tips bites into the impeller body, thus giving you extra grip.

Does anyone know where I can purchase that tool? If you used one, does it make it easier?

When I had a Yanmar I just pulled out the pump reach time. It wasn't that hard to do, easier than wrestling with the backwards impeller.

I have worked on many Yanmars. On this particular model of boat, the lower part of the engine is sub-floor, making removal more difficult.
All I want for now is to find the tool as described.

That would make it harder. If you can't find anything pre made, you could take pair of extra long needle nose piers, heat them up with a torch and bend them any way you want. A 180 deg turn would the tips inside with the handle still facing you.

The other option may be the bolt-in-a-bolt. If your impeller has threads on the outside edge there is a bolt you can buy that can be used.

Have the same engine in a B411. You have to be careful not to lever your steel tool against the pump body - you can damage the sealing surface, or burr the impeller volute. I use a Jabsco impeller puller. Makes quick work of the job.
