I tried to remove the impeller and the shaft came forward. Needless to say I stopped trying to remove the impeller. Is this going to create a problem? Thanks...Al

That's simply not true *sry
The newer (post 1986) Oberdorfer pumps on M25 and M25XP series engines do NOT have an indented shaft, they have a shaft that protrudes. There is absolutely NO reason they can't be removed and replaced. We still don't know what engine or pump Al has on his boat.

I have an Oberdorfer. My Engine is a Universal M-18, 14hp. I believe Stu has answered my question.
Impeller
The same thing happened to my impeller. A friend told me we should remove the impeller over the winter. This happens just from sitting.
