So I spend MANY weeks researching the Hunter 25.5 as I have found one nearby that looks interesting. I run down to the boat MANY times over several weeks, going through the boat, raising sails, firing up the motor, blah blah blah.Asking price is $6,500 down from $8K.After all my research (a lot on here, thanks again) I call today with an offer of $5,500 because of a few things that needed attention before I could sail it.The "Broker" calls my offer into the boat owner and calls me back."Sorry Ed, come to find out, the owner sold that boat to his neighbor for $3,000 a week or so before you started looking at it."I've wasted SO MUCH FREAKING TIME and now I sit here on Valentine's Day completely heartbroken.And now I'm in love with the 25.5 with a pocket full of money and no where to spend it.Thanks for your help gang, maybe one day I'll actually be able to use it.

There are lots of good 25s out there, not just Hunter. I had a Catalina 25 for years before I got a Hunter, and it's a fine boat. Check the Huntsville Times classifieds for starters. Your ship will come in, Happy Valentine's Day.

Lots of Heartbreaks on V-Day

Check Yachtworld used boat add section for Hunter 25.5s. There are quite a few there in a wide variety of configurations: Shoal keels or fin, inboards, outboards, some with spinnakers, roller furling, etc.There's even one in the STL area that is begging for an offer.They can be hauled on the same kind of trailer as a Catalina 25 or 27, or some even have their own trailer.Might want to check to see if the local marina(s) have a repo cradle they an sell you to park the boat until you're ready to launch.
