The wait is over,the marina contacted me about a slip that was available.After inspection of slip, i agreed(like i was gonna complain)Been trailersailing there enough to know the weed is heaviest there and is near to boat launch but i will be the one hauling out the weed and helping launchers. :dance:

Congratulations.

I'm a strong proponent of sailing out of a slip. I just seem to do more sailing when I don't have to launch and rig it every time.

My marina sent a letter that they were opening early this year. My boat comes out of winter storage Monday. Can't wait.

still have a couple weeks till season opening there,and word on the street says maybe May 1st till water levels come up

That's great to hear. With our C22 we trailer sailed during the winter on SF Bay, but had the boat in a slip at Clear Lake (3 hours north of the Bay) during the summer. What a difference.

You may want to consider just watching the antics at the boat ramp instead of helping. It'd be a lot funnier that way!

Watkins Glen is beautiful. I camped there during summer camp when I was kid. I climbed that old RR trestle, back before I got vertigo!

Don't think so. The place I remember was in a valley, long and narrow, and not off a lake, with no buildings. Maybe I'll try Google Earth for grins & giggles.

I hope it's not that late, but we're still 3' down over here in Ithaca on Cayuga. Must be they were a little gun shy after last spring's flooding and let a little too much water out? Then no snow.

I live on Owasco Lake, grew up here in fact. No doubt I am biased but the Finger Lakes Region is hands down one of the prettiest places on earth.
