So my "good friday" Oday 23 mast falling problem is well behind me. I got a new sidestay, and main halyard from Rudy this week and we had a mast raising today.
The mast is a little more beat up now. A lot of the paint was scraped off during the time it was dangling off the stern, but hey...If I can get away with $150 in fixes....it's a good day.
We raised the mast today and I finally got to use my "new/used" 150 hank-on jib since I finally got the old roller furler off.
The weather was great (70-75) with 9-13 knot winds. Good for the me..being a novice. It was the best sailing day I've had in a long time. I can say it felt like the boat was a lot faster in with my old smaller jib.
