High all.
Not sure how to post a new subject. Just went through Ike, boat did'nt fare so well at the Marina. Does anyone know if its feasable to try and restore a submerged sailboat. 87 o'day 322. ? ?

Your request is pretty broad. If the boat sank, the raising and restoration should be superficial.
If it was damaged and holed, that is another story...
Can you be more specific.

Thanks for answering, thats the big question, I'm trying to get some divers to let me know. Its still on the bottom of the lake/marina. It looks like it just went straight down. Its sitting straight up and the boom & mast are out of the water. I guess what I was trying to ask is, will the water damage put it in a beyond repair state assuming it was'nt holed to death by flying debry.

Not the water damage alone as interior wood and

cushions can be dried, the engine and transmission pickled, tanks cleaned. Fresh water is not as damaging as salt water. But you need to determine why it sank. If the hull is holed it may or may not be economically feasible to fix it. Please understand that whatever the instance you will be responsible for its removal from the lake. Check your insurance policy as
a good marine coverage will cover this cost. Sorry to hear and good luck.

Thanks for the info. Still trying to get a look at it. Hope its not holed to death.
