Bill, Out of curiosity, as the Z159 has been dropped, how is the windvane interfaced to the 4000 without a Z159?Also, why do I need to order a fancy exotic cable to go from the 159 to the 4000 ? why not just a shielded cable with small terminals?

Z159 was a package

The Z159 was a package that consisted of a rail mounted windvane and a junction box to translate the analog signals from the windvane to our proprietary SeaTalk protocol. Raymarine discontinued this system last year. Currently, the only wind systems we make utilize a masthead mounted transducer and a cockpit mounted instrument. The masthead transducers cable is run directly to the back of the instrument. The ST60 or ST40 Wind instrument then displays this information and converts it into Seatalk for the rest of the bus to use or repeat. By "fancy exotic cable", I assume you are referring to a Seatalk cable. A Seatalk cable is a three conductor shielded cable. The colors are red (12V ), yellow (Data) and shield (common ground). They are the same colors that are on the back of the ST4000 Autopilot display. The spade connectors are 1/8" x 1mm. Our part numbers for the spade connectors individually are NN-004. They are a commonly available part in Europe and most of the world.
