MacGregor built 3 cats. 2 beach cats and the one in your picture. It is a MacGregor 36 trailerable catamaran.

Had two different friends who owned one.
One took his to the Bahamas.. told me crossing the gulf stream needed two aboard-one to sail and one below caulking leaks
little accommodation below, but fairly fast

[FONT="]Back in the early 70’s I sailed a neighbors that was a 14 or 16 that when in a good wind one pontoon would bury and the boat would go over quite easily. Neither of us were heavy weights at that time. I believe it was a McGregor. I hadn’t thought about that in years. Not sure it is the same company.

Yep, It's a MacGregor 36 Cat. Built in the mid 70's. Broke the time/speed record in the Newport/Ensenada race I think around '74 +/-. Held the record for a while. Got to crew on one out of MDR once. Went like a bat out of H...!
