Identifying a Beneteau First 310 & H.I.D. location

Hello All, I'm trying to identify what year this 310 is, its a salvage boat.

I found a pic of a 1992 with a similar bulb type fin keel and same prop skeg but the forward salon porthole is small vs this one. On this one, BOTH fore and middle salon portholes are the same and longer than two small aft ones @ the nav and head (strbd), galley & aft berth (port). All portholes (windows) are rounded in the corners also.

I have been looking to find the hull id #s but so far no luck, any ideas where it might be located? Also trying to find out how many of these were made this year, whatever it is.


1st pic is of the 1992 I found on the web,
2nd is of its keel & skeg,keel very similar but not quite the same.
3rd, 4th & last are the keel, skeg & cabin of the Beneteau in question.

Hull ID number should be on the starboard side at the transom just below the toe rail. Sometimes its not very legible because it is not deeply imprinted into the gelcoat.. .
Its possible that it has been buffed out or filled with wax residue, or there may have been a damage repair that obliterated it. Oddly enough boats in general are not like cars which have VIN numbers in more than one location besides the front corner of the windshield.

Actually there are two locations for hull Id. One in on the hull at adjacent to the transom and just below the rail on the port side. Beneteau also has one inside the hull cavity but in different locations. Since the US boats were built in Marion NC after '87 I'd call Ward Richardson at the plant to find out where its located. He can also give you the numbering scheme so that you can identify yr and hull number. BTW the hull number will start with BEY

It looks totally stripped. If that's the case buying in parts will be very expensive.

It's possible who ever stripped it did so and then attempted to remove the numbers. Makes abandoning the hull easier.

B323 has it under the battery holder at the bottom of the steps.

ok thanks guys,.. I will look more carefully. Actually the boat was being prepped for a solo transatlantic race and in mid mods when owner was crippled.
