My portholes need all new gaskets. The boat was built in 1979 in West coast Canada by Spencer Yachts. I need to identify the mfg of my portholes and then attempt to locate replacement gaskets. It appears there are at least two separate gaskets, one on either side of the glass. Does anyone have information about this Mfg, where to loacate replacement gaskets for them or the process to rebuild them?
Thanks, JT

Welcome to SBO @SweetChariot. That might be a tough task. I see Spencer is still in business in N.C. Have you tried contacting them? If they are the same manufacture. There are many maufactures of ports now. So unless you can find some kind of marking on the frame of the port it will make the task a little more difficult. However, there are lots of gasket material on the market from boat to RV. I am sure you will be able to find something.

Good luck!

In 1997 Spencer Boats LTD reorganized under new management into Spencer Yachts LTD. Around 2006 Darcy and Malcolm Wilkinson, veteran offshore sailors became the owners of Spencer yachts LTD. I'm sure Malcolm will understand your plight and may have the company records to perhaps be able to help you. Send him an e-mail.

Just FYI Malcolms email (info@spenceryachts.com) no longer works but I was able to reach Malcolm by phone. He didn't have an immediate solution for me but gave me some other sources to investigate. The Research Project continues (which is what owning an older boat is about these days).
Thanks again.
