Ideas for outboard mount on my curved Stern Rail?

Hello,
I am having a hard time finding a stern rail mount for my outboard dinghy motor for my 2006 Hunter 31. I attached a picture of the situation. Due to the stern rail seats the entire stern rail in curved so it makes it impossible to properly mount an outboard mount. Has anyone else dealt with this already? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks, Wally

Could you use a couple of pieces of poly board to shim the corners of the motor mount so it would be straight?

What size motor are you trying to mount? Maybe a mount in a lazarette would work for a small engine?

Its a 1" stern rail that has no straight lines around the entire stern of the boat. Where the stern seats are there is only a curved back rest rail and then the stern seats. Unfortunately the lazarette's are tiny on the 2006 Hunter 31's. I have ordered several different types of outboard mounts but none are compatible. I have been towing the dinghy with the 3.5 hp 4 stroke Yamaha on it but you know that hazards associated with that set up. I saw another similar boat just mount the Westmarine outboard mount on the top rail (which allowed the outboard mount to flip around); however, when the outboard was mounted to it he would wrap the lower blade end of the outboard with a towel and just let it rest on the stern fiberglass which I did not like. In 5-10 ft swells I can see that outboard bouncing on the stern fiberglass.

It does not have to connect to anything other than the OB mount. Make it long enough that it covers the span from the mount to below the lower rail and rests on the lower horizontal rail for the stern rail seats.

I have my Honda 9.9 mounted to the crossbar on the arch and added an engine davit.

Works great, and it's out of the way.

Make it yourself

I custom made a motor mount like the Edson one. I made it out of layers of starboard. Mine is three layers of starboard at the top, only one at the bottom. The inside of the two outer layers needed to be routed out to accommodate the curve where I wanted it. You could certainly add another layer if your curves cannot be accommodated by three layers.

Sorry, I just went through a thousand pictures in my photo library and do not have a single photo showing the mount. The boat is over an hour away and I won't be going there until spring.
