I am very inexperienced so some of the obvious things to you guys, I just don't see yet. Nevertheless I am outfitting the boat to be able to sail along the coast to the Bahamas eventually, after I gain some experience. But when the time comes, my concern is I will be cruising along the coast and a storm will roll in and I won't have a protected port to go into where the waters and weather are calmer than the gulf.
What equipment and procedure would be best in that situation?
