I will bet good money that if you look closely

at the starboard top corner of the transom you will find a hull identification number. Also you might do a search for boats with the model name star with a red ,wqhire and blue flag logo.

Whats the deck look like ?

If this is a flush deck and has about 40 'control lines' .... then probably an International SOLING ... an olympic class boat from 1972-2000. Today the Soling is a 'trainer' for 'match racing'; although, its still a very active 'fleet' racer. The key elements of a Soling in your pics are there: keel shape, that graceful spoon bow, that large stern counter and that well forward located deep rudder. The sail logo is a greek 'omega' - Ω www.soling.com www.soling.com/indexmore.asp?IdArticle=1&Seccion=General%20Information&Lengua=English Would be a 'find' if in decent shape.

Boat Number

Yes I belatedly realized that I should have gotten the number. I was after some other body parts when I saw this boat. I'll see it again tomorrow and find the owner if possible John S

Soling

Looks a lot like a Soling to me. Not enough pics to make a good ID .. but that is my best guess ...

Yes!

You guys are awesome. This boat has a pool of water in it and the sails are missing but the hull looks very nice. It might be a good race boat for me and my friends on local lakes. I can see the cover (blue tarp) disintegrated on the ground below. I believe that the hull is not keeping the water in, there should be a lot more so it is probably draining around the rudder shaft.

Also looks like a Soling to me...

the deep keel may hinder some shallow lake enjoyment.

I think you have a boat.

Chances are the owner would like to get rid of it... seeing that it has been sitting around for a while. I am sure he has the sails in the garage. Find the owner.. offer half of what he asks. He can only say no! Good luck,

It's tough...

It's tough to tell from the photos but it may also be an Etchell as the keel looks very Etchell to me. Soling's and Etchell's have similar lines.. Etchell: http://www.etchellsna.org/theboat.html

Check with the yard people first. then check

with the state. Have the numbers from the bow and the sticker number, and last date shown on the sticker. You may be able to have the boat declared "abandoned" and file a claim on it. Edit to add: also check the registration on the trailer.

State Parks

you can call State Parks & registration in Boise (208-334-4199) with that Idaho boat registration number and ask them how to get the owners name. Come north when you want some great lake sailing. Mike T.
