I can't seem to be able to program the MMSI code into the VHF. The book is clear that you hold down the menu/mmsi button when you turn the unit on then press the menu button again to program the code. Unit does not respond, anyone have a similar issue?

Is it a new radio, or did you acquire it second hand?

Is was an existing radio and it indicates no MMSI, so it apparently was never coded.

That process should right. JSG probably called it, most DSC radios only allow the MMSI to be programmed two times by users. After that its back to the factory or authorized dealer.

Does it show an MMSI now??

No, when you press and hold the menu it says No MMSI, so I assumed it had never been programmed with one.
