I have C30 hull #10, built in 1975. The icebox was front opening, located aft in the galley on the port side next to the companionway ladder. Front opening iceboxes use ice at an alarming rate. When I was living aboard I took the icebox out and found a 120v mini refrigerator that fit in the space very nicely. I only raced and day-sailed the boat so a portable cooler was good enough for the very occasional weekend off the dock. I'm not living on the boat any longer and have been trying to figure out what to do for an icebox. Does anyone else on the the list have an old C30 that came with the "fake refrigerator" icebox? Do you still use it? If you changed it or built a new box, where did you locate it? If you have a newer C30 with the icebox aft of the stove and outboard, how does that layout work for you?
