Ice cube tray

We have an AB cold plate freezer on board and I would like to make ice cubes. AB sells vertical metal trays that lay against the cold plate for about $60 each. Does anyone have a more economical solution? Laying them vertically against the cold plate makes sense. I've checked with RV places and all they have is the standard horizontal plastic ice tray. Terry

You can get square aluminum tubing

in the hardware stores. If you fitted a stopper in the end and filled them with water you could hang them against the plate. Then just warm them a little and pull the stopper and push the ice out.

Ice or cooling for sale

I never use mine and might consider selling them for less than $60 (ouch). I have found that the squarish plastic orange juice cantainers fit perfect. I freeze them at home prior to going to the lake and then place one in the freeze plate to help get things cooled quick. (mine will hold 3 or four. I also freeze small bottled water there too. This won't make ice for you drinks (unless you cut the OJ carafes up. So, to you want just bulk ice or ice cubes?

Tupperware

Tupperware makes ice cube trays with lids. They work fine at any angle. Cheap on Ebay, check the link:
