I recently purchased an O'Day 302 - 1988 and am unable to get the ice chest under the nav station to drain. I also cannot seem to get at the drainage hose or find the find the thru-hull fitting. Could it be plugged or is there a sea-cock?

Hand Pump

I have a 302 and there is a hand pump next to the sink.

Drains to Bilge?

Just a guess here but there is a lot of organic crud that gets plugged in an ice chest drain. Get a length of tygon tubing and attach it to a barbed fitting that you can jam down into the drain hole and see if you can blow it out. If it does drain to bilge you may want to route this drain line to an above the waterline through-hull, existing or new. Keeping out the organic debris will keep the bilge odours down. Don

Thanks

Thanks R. Philips! I have been using the hand pump for fresh water when the water pressure pump is off. I did notice a Y valve beneath the sink that is connected to hand pump line. I thought it may have been for bringing in sea water, but it must be used to drain the ice chest. As soon as I get down to my boat I'll try it. Makes sense not to waste the water in the ice chest! Thanks again. Spencer Cain
