I have a 1990 Catalina 34 with a top loading Ice Box. The lid has no gasket and appears to have been shipped that way from the factory. The lid has a rabbit cut along the edge and the counter has a reverse cut allowing the lid to make wood to wood contact. Should there be a rubber gasket there? Has anyone used a method of using wax paper and silicon to create one? The wax paper and silicon one interest me due to the irregularities in the mating services (slightly warped lid). I'm open for suggestions. Thanks, Dave

Lid Gasket

Dave We have the same condition on our '86. I installed hinges and a hatch holder to keep the lid up, but haven't thought about a seal. We usually simply put a towel over the lid before we turn in for the night. Be interesting to see what others have done. Might want to try posting your question on the C34 message board. Best regards, Stu
