I have a Hunter 35 1989 vintage. The drain hose from the icebox became dislocated. I need to re attach it to the opening at the bottom of the icebox. Does anyone know if the connection comes apart or do you have to be a contortionist to replace the hose?

On mine I could not get to underneight the icebox so this is what I did:
Chip off the top ring part and push it all the way through. Then buy a new thru-hole connector and hose and connect them with hose clamp. Then caulk the thru-hole into the hole in the icebox. I used 3M 4000 caulking.
It would be nice to be able to put the backing nut on the thru-hole but the caulk is enough to hold it in place if you can't get under the icebox, this will do.

A different solution
Ultimately, regardless of how you repair the fitting you'll need access so you can check for leaks, do future maintenance, etc.
