Just thought I would put out there an idea we stole from a fellow sailor. Our icebox uses a Jebsco hand pump to drain the ice box into the sink. It is a nice system as the ice melt does not go into the sump. We noticed a friend uses a cylinder or tube type Super Soaker to drain their ice box into their sink. It is actually much faster and easier than using the hand pump.
We also get an added bonus. There are four of us at our marina that sail often and together. One of the couples are Pirates and will launch a water ballon attack at any given time they see one of us out sailing the sound. Having a Super Soaker full of ice water is a great defense for close quater water ballon attacks.
