Hi there!! I have a 97 c-270 which has i would about a 3 sq ft ice box. Anyone had any luck on converting a box about this size with any one of the refrig conversion kits? Also...how bad would the battery draw be. I live on Lake Superior.... maybe that would help a little!!!!....:) Thanks! Doug

Icebox Conversion

Battery draw down is 5 amps when running, refrig units (DC, like Adler Barbour) run 50% of the time, figure 60 ah per day if you leave it on all the time. Many people turn it off at night when the box isn't being used. Thousands of people have done it, that's why they sell 'em. Try the C27 association website for details of how people have done theirs. You'll love not having to deal with ice again. Even where you are, insulating the icebox is also helpful, although we've lived successfully for six years without doing so. Stu

Ice Helps

We always take ice, need it for drinks. What is really great is the fact that we arrive at the dock each time with cold drinks on board, even if its been two weeks since we had been there. Have a great holiday season. Paul
