I have some play in my prop shaft strut and am looking for suggestions from anyone who has made repairs to the prop shaft strut on an IC34.

I have the Irwin spec sheet for the strut

Thanks

Usually in the strut, there is a brass and rubber bearing in which the shaft passes through. If the bearing is worn, you will get some play. Remove the castle nut and prop, and then remove the cutlass bearing. Replace with a new one. Replace prop and nut and of course the key and cotter pin.

Sorry - I was not clear enough. It is not the cutless bearing where the play is. There is play where the strut comes out of the hull.

Had the same problem on my I40. Get the blue print crom Gene Gammon. Measure the height of the strut, drill a few holes in the hull just above the top end of the strut and pour in a bunch of epoxy. Also drill a couple of holes through the hull and strut and set a couple of bolts. Did ours 2 years ago. No problem since.

Have you ever seen an I-32 with this configuration? Think mine should have one.
