I know that in the US and Canada you can get the Standard Horizon Matrix:

There is lots of info on this radio on the net.

I have one (with remote mic) and it works well. The VHF screen is a little small to see all the AIS targets but it's better than nothing. If I am on a long trip I have a PC below that gets the AIS data from the radio and display the targets on the big screen.

I don't think the $210 model comes with integrated AIS. You might want to check.

Matrix 2100

I have the Matrix 2100 with the AIS receiver. I like it a lot. Mine is linked to my Raymarine multifunction display. It was a life saver this summer in Maine. I don't know how useful it would be if you were just relying on the screen with the unit. It is very small.

I bought mine from Defender. It is currently priced at 329.99.

The Matrix 2000 does not have the AIS feature and is about 200.


I also like the automatic foghorn feature as well. I put a speaker horn on the mast and it worked great.
