I need info on rudder fabrication technics, please

When I bought my Oday 20 I new I was going to need a new rudder. Yesterday it finally broke. I need info on fabrication technis and materials involved in such project. I'm a home builder/carpenter and I have access to a complete wood shop. Any suggestions. Thanks. Valentin.

Maybe some help ...

I have an O'Day 17 DS I with a kick up rudder. When I purchased my O'Day 23 it had a solid rudder. We sail in the Illinois river which is very shallow... I knew it needed a kick up rudder.
