Sounds as though she is a very typical Vega that has not been cared for a year
or so. The great thing about Vegas is that they are quite easy to renovate and
bring up to scratch. As they are only 27 feet you can see the work you have
done. At teh worst case you will nneed a new set of sails which would cost
about $2000 US but you can always use the original sails which are probably
newer than the boat as she has furling gear which was not standard when they
were bulit. As she has a MD6B you will not have the troubles with a Dynastart
(MD6B uses a proper starter) and she will be a failry late one (1976 ish).

afraid I have no idea of prices in the USA or Canada as I live in the UK .
