Cam or CLAM cleats?
My 1999 H260 has "Clam" (or V) cleats just forward of the winches and a jam cleat just outside. I usually take two wraps around the winch and when the sail is trimmed, make a figure 8 around the jam cleat, tug it home and it stays put until time to tack or adjust the trim again. The clam cleats are there, in my opinion, to hold the jib temproarily to free the winch to tighten a halyard or raise the centerboard.I usually leave the guard wires over the clams to prevent them from grabbing the jib sheets at inoppurtune moments.Fair winds...Tom
