I've just got to give a shout to how great the butyl sealant I bought from Mainesail works for most of the stuff you need to bed/seal on a boat. I've been working on boats for over 30 years, but since I bought some last year, I haven't used anything else, and it works great. Today I even used it to bed a sink drain instead of plumbers putty....works fine...really has simplified my boat maintenance and I haven't had a dried up expensive tube of sealant since I got the tape. I don't know Mainsail other than to buy this sealant from him, but if you try it, you won't use anything else for most normal sealing jobs. And a thanks to Mainesail for all the picture articles...great for beginners to our sport(?).

Thanks !! Glad you like it. Just remember Bed-It Tape is not rated for below waterline use, but a sink drain/strainer would be fine....

I used a bunch of that tape over the weekend sealing my hatch frames and the interior portlight flanges on my H30. Had me cursing a few times though......the stuff really likes to stick to itself
