it seemed to be in decent shape except it had a good deal of water in the bilge. It was sitting on the trailer. The problem is that there is a metal support rod in the cabin under where the mast attaches to the cabin top. The bottom of the support was attached to a plywood plate which was very wet. When we would move or push down on the rod, water would ooze out of the plywood. My friend feels it could be fixed professionally. My question is, is there any other wood below the plywood (a stringer, etc.) that is not visible that could also be damaged? Other than this everything seems to be solid. The deck around the left chain plate is very cracked. The current owner says that it is from the boat getting caught under a higher dock as the boat wakes came in. There does not seem to be any water leakage through the deck around the chain plates. It has three sails, the two original ones and a newer genoa. The mainsail has holes at the end of most of the pockets that hold the battens. The batten pocket seams are intact. The holes in the sails are just where the batten pocket ends. Can these holes be repaired without sacrificing the sail integrity? I have really appreciated the input of everyone who has responded to my recent queries. There is a great deal of knowledge here.
