I knew when I bought my 222 I'd have questions. -

When sailing to windward, I hear a grown or two coming from the chainplate. At first I thought it was just the port side, but now I'am aware it IS starboard also. The through hull fitting seems water tight but I will loosen up the hardware during winter storage and make sure.. No signs of leaks that I can see. Since the bulkhead on my 222 is not fastened to the cabin or hull I suspect this is normal..?? What say?

Rob, your pix tells the story well.

Rob, This is the best picture of how the system is assembled I've seen yet.. I like the way you have handled the reinforcement..Question? Did you change the "U" shaped bolt comming down into the coach and is the original chain plate behind your square plate? And yes I do have the tube you mention from the bottom of the mast tabernacle and the compression post. You feel that this is enough support? I plan to do something during winter layup, and I like what I see you have done. Thanks for sharing you idea and pixs.
