I just bought a Hunter 290

We just bought a Hunter 290, 2000. She seems a great boat. The survey report is great. We are looking forward to sail her. Is there anythings that we should know about the model that reviews do not mention? Any special maintenance...etc?Thank you and we are looking forward to read the answers.

Fairly easy to maintain

I have the same year/model. Last year was my first as a boat owner, and the 290 is a great boat.Just follow what the manual says regarding maintenance, and you will find that it's pretty easy to take care of. And if you're not sure about something, this is a great place to bring your questions.Good luck and enjoy the boat......

Great boat

Last year was my first time as a sail boat owner also. I love my 2001-290 its easy to sail and very easy to take care of ,its a great boat and good luck and enjoy your boat like so many other 290 owners are doing.

Last summer I became the owner of the 290's follow on boat, the 306, and join you in the conclusion that this just may be the best weekend crusing boat around. Simple to sail, roomy, easy to maintain, small enough to push around, big enough to accommodate guests, and a solo sailer's answer to reluctant crew.
