Just curious about your avatar, is it someone's eye in negative?

Use a Tarp...

...over the dodger and bimini. It's quick to remove and set up. Use it until you find a way to control the birds.

All great ideas

These are all great ideas. If you're not going to use your boat for a period, try tying mono line between the fixed rigging, boom, and aft sections (anywhere they're likely to fly/approach to land). They don't like flying into line and will avoid your boat, in short time. We have mono tied across the top of our pool area in a random nature. Not even ducks will attempt to use the pool as a resting stop.

Tell us more Bill

What device are you referring to? A nearby marina installed a box that blasts loud noises of some kind that supposedly would scare off the birds. We don't know if it worked though, it was so obnoxious all the people left :) We've jokingly talked about wiring some shore power to zap the rig periodically. Probably easier to clean bird carcasses off the deck rather than their poop...

Bye Bye Blackbirds

I hate birds too. West Marine sells a string of signal flags sewn to a nylon tape that can be run up the mast with the halyards. The cost is about $30.00. One string should do but if not two surly will. Tie them off either at the stern and/or foward at the bow. The flapping flags should keet the birds away and the boat will look nautical, good luck.
