Hey All:
So it is my third week with my new-2-me 1995 H26... and after the test sail with the P.O., I spent the next three weekends running down electrical problems. Got them all sorted out today except for the charging system on the outboard... and I had 3 hours before sunset..... went for a sail.
I LOVE THIS BOAT! She is so easy to single hand. I also got a chance to run her through some paces and she points a lot higher than I expected. For some reason that I don't understand, she points a bit higher on a starboard tack than on a port tack and sure does hove-to easily. I wasn't sure how she would do in a hove-to situation with such a large main and smaller genoa... but I parked her in the middle of the lake and took some bearings and after 45 minutes... I was in almost the same spot.
I'm a happy camper. Next on my to-do list is to get a decent guide for the Great Dismal Swamp and start planning a trip from Norfolk, VA to Oriental NC. I got the other charts I need, just don't have a good guide for the GDS.
