I.D. this sad state of affairs

Looks like a 70s design based on the transom. Hull color screams IP or Islander.... maybe. Other clues as well. What is it?? One thing I can say, that was some QUALITY chainsaw work!

Some Cals and Islanders have a similar galley. It has the old Kenyon pressurized alcohol stove. Those were falling out of favor by the mid 80s.

Edit: That is also a porta-pottie with a pump out hose. Very old school.

Hmmm it has high lifelines, and the cutout in the V-berth is quite deep. I'm guessing at least 28 feet.

That motor well screams Cape Dory 25. But I have not yet seen one with a cut out. Bristol 24? Corsair. Out of battery!

The tiller seems to be OK.
Stern rail seems to be in one piece.

I saw 2 similar boats cut into similar, disposable chunks, at a local storage yard.

There's more neglected boats in that yard alone headed for the same fate. The tool they used was a Sawzall (reciprocating), and lots of blades.
There was surprisingly little to salvage in those boats.

I saw the winches too. Probably just need to be serviced.
Also that blue bumper probably still works.

After watching so much of the fittings and parts of boats damaged in Superstorm Sandy it's so sad to see all the remaining stuff on these boats go into a land fill. Just had a boat near me about to be crushed so I got permission to go aboard and take what I wanted. I got some cleats, stainless chocks, stainless cabin lights, a brass porthole, a bunch of local charts, a bevy of wooden blocks, 2'x2' large grate teak shower floor mat,part of the sole, and a bunch of stantions. In addition was able to get the mizzen mast 35' tall that I want to make into a flag pole for the backyard (previous post). Into the dumpster went at least 4-6 very large SS turnbuckles, a hinged in the center hatch and lots of other stuff. Lots of winter projects.
