it seems that the oil has interfered with everyones plans in life....disrupted everything everywhere--- seems nice n easy is stuck in new orleans area and wont be able to help me with this project and sailing i was hoping ot do this year--moving my formosa to mazatlan....
i was kinda counting on his ability to help me finish the repairs before we leave--now i havent any crew--i have been hoping to get this done and out of san diego this winter--is there anyone who would like to trade their handiwork and strength for passage to mazatlan or even through the canal?? this is a long term situation , as it will take many weeks to accomplish this--so if you have , or know someone who has a bit of general handy capability, doesnt have a boat and wants to sail for a while--please refer to me----no axe murderers, please..or ...

hopefully i can find a non violent crew for this boat--she is a 41 formosa with a recent repower and new rig, all the elecronics the previous owner could imagine, and only a few problems---difficult to finish alone....and will be fun to sail.....where the weather is soon tobe perfect--is still a bit cool--and there is no oil on our water(at present)

hopefully, we might be able to entice nice n easy out of new orleans after hurrycame season...he may be itching for a long sail by then......

So sorry the admiral wont give me a transfer to a new boat and my time on the water is way too inadequate to be of much good to you even if she would sign the papers. I do love your sense of humor and spirit though and cant wait to read about your adventure with whatever lucky person can get free. I always learn something.

what's the timeframe? When do you want to depart? What's your arrival estimate in mazatlan? I could do about 3 weeks in October, any sooner and I could only do 2 weeks. I could fly in and out of any jumping off point. I would love to help you out, machinist by trade, pretty handy with a wrench, not too good with cosmetics(more about function than form), and no violent background or criminal record(lol). It may not be a lot of help but it's some.

harleyworker--my departure all depends on the length of time it takes to change out chainplates and fix electrical panel--then i can go ---- october could be a good time--is after hurrycames are purrty much done--and the window for southern sailing is opening up---i hope to leave for mazatlan sometime between nov and feb-is the southbound window here...and i hope to be out of here for winter--i have difficulty tolerating cold water and cold weather---for the sailing trip i will need 4-6 people for watches--i would like ot have 2 on watch all the time--for safety ---we have some seas here to consider---and is difficult to hear someone holler from cockpit to inside the boat---if there is someone who is close by to help also would be really coool---i can use all the help i can get!!!--i have room for folks to sleep --sheesh--i have 2 boats ..lol.....and bubba shares well.....sooner boat is ready , sooner boat can can leave here...but not before oct 30--when the last of the hurrycames is spozedly past......

oh --i dont worry about cosmetics--is what gets the sailors in other places into trouble--cosmetix--i dont do shiny.....(shiny attracts rats..and i already have a pet)...lol.......

Wow, sounds like an awesome ride you have going there!!! I have been following Alex Dorsey and his site Project Bluesphere for a few years now. He doe's repairs and moves boats too. If he can't do it, he may know someone who does.
He has just arrived in the San Blas islands of Panama a couple weeks ago.

aaaaaaaah--but does he do trades of work for passage or is he into real cash money for services--is a difference---i need to trade passage for the work done....is why i placed my words here instead of going to an ad section--am hoping to find some folks with nothing better to do than participate--someone should be available---even without a violent background..lol.

sounds like a perfect timing again--my timing is impeccable--lol--i would be most happy to welcome you to my down home cruiser for a weekend of electrification!!!!
i found out the windlass works..LOL....now i need to find wood for a mast pulpit for the nav lights--i want to move them back to midships and inward so they dont go away with seas breaking on sprit!

i need to rebuild the panel--is there, is functional and doesnt fitinthe hole provided for it without flames and stench. yipes . that aint right. i am too much of a chicken to jump into it without my rubber hat, mitts and shoes.....my bat charger died after la nina storms in 2009 spring. i think my deck was leaking a bit then.....and i need to find out why my saloon overhead light doesnt work.other than that i think i am ok. lol
not much, eh? my switches all work ok and they seem to be wired up ok. but the dang thing(panel) doesnt wanna live in its home...

claude--i would love to sail with ye--by the time boat and i am ready to go thru canal maybe you can have more time---we see then..lol....am counting on the tall skinny hard headed man to sail with...LOL....and whoever else is in themood and has the time!:dance:
