Trailer for a Santana 22
From what I've read about the Santana 22, they are a great heavy weather keel boat and a fast sailer. They also came with a special trailer with high bunk supports. This boat is definitely a boat that you're going to want to leave in the water after you launch it, because of the keel depth. I'm even wondering whether this boat could be floated of a trailer without some kind of extension bar on the trailer. Even with an extension tow bar on the trailer, the ramp would have to be of a pretty steep pitch and depth to get it off the trailer. A friend of mine had an Alberg Typhoon 18 and the trailer that he had for it, had adjustable pads very similar to jack stands, that were holding the hull. He was able to back in the water and lower the pads to get the boat to float off the trailer. You may have to buy a new trailer for this boat, or have a welder set up a trailer suitable enough to carry this boat. Good luck.Joe
