Hydro of CNG tank - HELP

I've found places that do tank hydro's and recertification but every time they give the "we don't know what CNG is" or some other reason why they can't hydro test it. In one case they said if they knew what the "internal inspection" requirements. Another place that deals in industrial and welding gasses said they don't know the code to put down so they can't do it.

1. How did you get them to accept it for hydro and what do they use for visual inspection criteria and if they have to ship it off what "code" do they use?

If you have any info or could inquire of the place where they did your hydro could you please let me know how I can go about getting it tested. If you would rather, if you could just pm me with the phone number of the place I'll call them and inquire.

Thanks in advance

Bump to put this one at the top. Don't respond to the other thread with a similar title.

Here is an outlying idea.

Get a regular scuba tank valve, swap that inplace of your CNG valve and take it for hydro as a scuba tank. You can get used scuba valves on ebay or a new one for around $50-$75. That may or may not be money you want to spend but with all the hassle you are going through it might be worth it. There is nothing permanent on the tank (at least not on my tanks) that says what it is being filled with.

Places like that deal with CNG tanks used for transportation fuel. They are not likely going to have anything to do with certifying a DOT 3AA tank. I suppose they might be able to point in the right direction though.
I suppose that is a possible avenue to explore but CNG tanks used in transportation can't be re-certified.

These guys will probably know the answer to your question.
I found their name on this page in a pdf of approved inspection agencies.
https://www.phmsa.dot.gov/hazmat/pressure-vessels-approvals/domestic-independent-inspection-agencies
NC was the closest agency listed to Jacksonville, FL. My guess, from how few agencies are on their list, that they work with more local facilities to recert in every state.
