I am having difficulty getting pressure in the hydraulic keel. When sailing single handed it can require 30-40 pumps of the handle to get the darn thing moving up-any tips? Thanks
I would contact Hunter Composites directly on that problem. If for any reason the keel might be hanging up, you run the risk of breaking the cable. If that's not it, it almost has to be a bad hydraulic unit.Contact: Lind Bayreuther at CustomerService@huntercomposite.comGreat group of people to work with up there.
It sounds like you may have an air lock. When I had this happen, Lind at Hunter told me to open (release) the valve on the hydraulic cylinder and pump it about 100 times, then close the valve. The "pressure" should return. I have had to do this a number of times over the almost 4 years I have had my 216./Ernie
