Just an update. We, here in NJ got our butts kicked.
I lost my boat, Oday 25 1980. Very sad :cry:. had her for these past 3 years.
Did a lot of restoration and brought her back to nice shape.
BoatsUS looked at her today and said it will be a total loss.
It's been said, we had a 14-16 foot surge at full moon high tide.

I hear BoatUS is a good company. Hope you had purchased a good dollar amount of insurance.

The loss of some 650,000 pleasure boats, and some 2,500,000 cars, trucks motorcycles is unimaginable.

Sorry for your loss. Stuff can be replaced. Hope all your family is doing ok.

Those photos are heart breaking, especially after all that hard work bringing her back to top shape. I hope BoatUS helps you to recover and you are able to get back into boating again.
I have an 80 O'day 25. Very nice boat, though I only had it about 5 weeks when Sandy hit. I was very lucky to have it in on the hard in a protected area of the marina. No damage.

Sorry to see your boat get wrecked mate. We used to have an S 2 a lot kie the one next to your boat in those pics. Boats can always be replaced, but people can't. So try to look on the bright side, even though it looks bleak at the moment. Good luck in searching for a new pride & joy.

We winter in Morgan Marina in South Amboy, NJ. Brought her over on Saturday, two days before the storm.
Hope to get pulled. But didn't. They were swamped and felt she would be alright. Didn't. Expect the surge to be so great.

Yes. I have a lot more photos. Hard to look at. Enjoy your boat. The 25 is a great boat. Fast, sails well and is like a much bigger boat than she is.

Thanks to all that have replied. Our family is fine. I know it is just a boat. Could have been much worse.
Could have lost our home or worse. But, really loved that boat. Hope all will have a great sail next season.
We hope to be back on the water in the next "About Time".
